The Greatest Generation also inspired great music. Tonight, travel back to the 1940s with songs like "Don’t Sit Under the Apple Tree", "Sentimental Journey", "Swingin’ on a Star" and "Don’t Fence Me In." As a singer, composer and musician, Steve Askins has been entertaining all ages for more than 30 years. He has toured the U.S. as a solo artist as well as a member of various ensembles.

Relive some of the lighter moments of the 1940s with the Those Were the Days Radio Players West when they present two radio shows of the period. "Jack Benny Donates Maxwell to the Scrap Drive" and "Fibber McGee and Molly’s Scrap Collection" will have you laughing at the ensuing misadventures of these radio icons. The Radio Players present comedy and drama based on the original scripts from the 1930s to the 1950s, with the old-time sound effects and original music. Although our country was at war, these humorous broadcasts brought some enjoyment and entertainment to the people at home.
